Social activity

Expanding business and business relations, „Invalda“ follows publicly announced principles of social responcibility and ethics, stated in Company's approved Codes of Social responsibility and Ethics.

Besides main human rights, employee rights, enviromental care and fight against corruption principles used in Invalda group companies, Invalda also strives to broaden social responsibility countrywide.

To observe development of society and business relations and also to implement social initiative motivation programmes, Invalda  in 2007 established social enterprise foundation Iniciatyvos fondas.

Activity of Iniciatyvos fondas includes organisation of various programmes, based mostly on raising educational level for different groups of society. Priorities may differ from year to year, but main principle  remains to escape supporting single projects but to launch big and integrated projects, which would encourage different target groups to start activities and to contribute to development of Lithuanian economy also responsible and harmonious society.

Iniciatyvos fondas seeks to develop a system, which would employ private resources in implementing initiatives, which would encourage positive changes in society.

Iniciatyvos fondas in 2007 implemented the initiative training program  which was devoted to Lithuanian schoolchildren of 5 – 12 forms. The project aimed to promote the personal initiative of young persons and to encourage the students to try to solve hot national, regional or local problems. The result of the program was written essays and paintings showing the ability of schoolchildren to analyze relevant issues.

Iniciatyvos fondas in 2008 implemented the initiative programme "Catch tomorrow 2008" in three of Lithuania’s counties: Alytus, Utena and Taurage. The programme promoted individual and collective initiative in active search for solutions of burning social and environmental problems at local levels. Programme's participants had to initiate, plan and implement social or environmental initiative, which would help to solve the selected problem and determine the changes. Programme's result: projects that promote environmental and social issues and public awareness.

In 2009 Iniciatyvos Fondas implemented the social initiative project „Book is the joy of knowledge. Let‘s share“. The project aimed to collect and to grant as many books as possible to Lithuanian libraries. Nearly 6.4 thousands books (77 per cent of all given books is in Lithuanian language) were collected. Given the fact that in 2009 funding from the state for new books in libraries was nearly 3 times less than in 2008, Iniciatyvos Fondas in addition gave some completely new Lithuanian books to libraries. Thanks to the high activity and goodwill of people, it is discussed a possibility to continue this project, expanding books collection not only in Vilnius, but also in other Lithuanian towns.
